mackageMay 4, 04:19 PM...I am pretty much disappointed after waiting months for a refresh that was suppose to be a substantial upgrade over last years iMacs. I think alot of us had unwarranted expectations due to the HUGE increase in the MBP performance.

Here is where I am coming from. I am an accountant so spending money were a return isn't realized is against what I believe in. Therefore, I planned to buy the base 27" version. So many times before this refresh I was tempted to buy the base 3.6ghz dual core that was available. I am still a fan of a high clock speed because it makes a difference in daily single and dual core tasks. However, I waited mainly due to most on this forum stating I would regret it and the upgraded processors were going to be substantially better.

Let's compare the benchmarks:

32 bit

3.6ghz dual core (last year) - 7,000 average

2.7 quad core (sandy bridge) - 7950


64 bit


3.6ghz dual core (last year) - 7,745

2.7 quad core (sandy bridge) - 8625


Is this really a substantial jump? You take away clock speed (even though you do have turbo boost to 3.7) and add two cores and you get less than a 1,000 point increase.

I have a 23 inch Apple monitor, but it's not the same as watching the movie in the living room. As soon as Apple lets me use my video content the way they let me use my audio content, I've got a long list of videos waiting to be bought.

Some users claim that 4.3.1 is not necessary to save SHSH for it, but others are telling users to hurry up and save their 4.3.1 SHSH before it's too late.

When I use TinyUmbrella, it seems to show only one version saved, 4.3. If it's not necessary to have 4.3.1 to save 4.3.1 SHSH, then how do I do it?

I am only worried that the Jailbreak is only going to work on 4.3.1 for iPad 2. I'm perfectly happy with 4.3.

Restore to the external drive, and when it asks if you want to copy yoru files and settings from another Mac OS X installtion, tell it yes. One of the options is to migrate from "another partition on the same computer." It'll copy over all your files, applications, user settings...everything.

That, or you could go the CCC route. Whichever.

ruftytuftyApr 15, 11:30 PMPersonally, I'd wait and see on this before putting down this much money. I expect that AT&T can track down and relock phones unlocked through this method. And, if they do, it probably won't take them that lock.

Second: while the seller claims they will refund your money, I wouldn't place a lot of faith in this if your phone gets relocked after a period of time. While Negri Electronics doesn't appear to be a scammer, some of the complaints about their customer service definitely would make me cautious about doing business with them - esp. in a case where I might be needing to get a refund from them months down the road. Yes, how did you work that out? I've been in Australia for months and I've pleaded with Rogers to unlock my phone while I'm here. They refuse to do it unless I pay $400 to end my contract and another $100 for the unlock. I've been using Rogers for over 8 years and they still won't help me out.

Never again will I use another Rogers service after this whole fiasco. They are a bunch of jerks.

mikora7May 6, 10:50 AMI reset network settings first. When that didn't work, I hooked it up to the computer and tried a full restore to factory settings. When that didn't work, I tried resetting the network again, so I guess I've done all I can do on my own. I'll look into the cost of repairs. I'm pretty sure I don't have Apple Care so we'll have to see what the best option is. Thanks!

All that anyone has suggested is that we pay our the debts our country has amassed, and to do so, the best, most fair way would be to stop corporate welfare and subsidies and impose additional taxes on those who have the most, would be hurt the least, and who benefitted the most by the policies that created the debt.

Personally, I think the moon looks like swiss cheese, but if you think it's something else, that's fine.

unfortunately, finding the best DVD-R is more of a "sample until you find what works". don't invest in a spindle unless you've tried a few of each and know what works, and what doesn't.

I'd say with your budget get Komplete 7, and then add on extra libraries as you see fit, LASS, east west or VSL for instance.

Other really useful software is spectrasonics, RMX, Trillian and omnisphere as with these you'll have your, loops/beats, bass, synths and pads/textures pretty much covered. for great real sounding drums, addictive drums are great sounding and MUCH lighter on rescources than DFH etc.

True, iPad is just one device, but I can connect it to the TV. I tried SlingBox (I have both the Slingbox and the slingplayer device) and the quality is quite mediocre. I think the iPad solution may be the best.

Would love to run a test with someone.

Very stoked for GT5, Reach will be interesting and I hope Donkey Kong Country Returns comes out in the fall as well (easily my most loved game from E3 '10).
