We constructed it out of aluminum, it's the perfect material and looks great. Correct, it has a foot extending from the back that just barely stretches pass end of the stand.

So, you're telling me you're a masochist? Seriously, though, I watch screen casts of how to do things in Premier and After Effects every time I wonder what things might be like elsewhere and they always make the apps look completely unusable. Everything is a vaguely named selection on a huge popup and you have to choose several of these to do what you want-- I understand what people mean by "it takes a lot of training".... I'm sure it does to use products like that.

Everything I'm seeing here makes this sound like a major leap forward in edting-- just the automatic audio sync on import is a huge thing. No need to go buy plural eyes. Which means if my on camera mic is not appropriate I don't have to worry about the sync hassles of capturing audio with a recorder.... and that's just one of a dozen features like that.

Almost all DVDs using Dolby Digital 5.1 encoding and some better ones use DTS (which I love). These make a huge difference. Again, looking at the tech savvy customers that are early adopters, you have to think about movies like iRobot, Star Wars, War of the Worlds, Batman Begins, Spider Man 1 and 2, Bourne Supremacy, etc. These DVDs have impressive sound that cannot be expressed in stereo.
I know they are encoded with these formats, but very few DVDs actually take advantage of "directional" abilities of them. Yes, 5 speaker systems make you feel a bit more immersed in sound compared to just 2 small speakers on your TV. However, very few movies I watch gives me the feeling that something coming from behind just whizzed by me on the left side or some animal just roared or chirped on the right. Among these very few might be Bourne Supremacy or Star Wars, but liked I've said, a lot of movies just don't even bother working on that angle.

It'll help us guys who can't wait until March/April for Santa Rosa, stick in a CF card reader into the MBP and a 2gb+ card and presto (could work quite well with the new hard sleep feature).

BTW, don't tell me about storage. if you want storage, get a portable 30 GB HD.I'm not saying I don't think BluRay won't be really cool. it'll just be more reasonable come MWSF time.

I think there are about 20-30 titles available for both BluRay and HDDVD, though I know I only saw a small selection at Best Buy. They were all priced around $24.99. Perfectly reasonsable and comparable to how the launch of standard DVDs went, though I think those had a higher launch price. I rememver movies debuting at $30 bucks. Players started around $700 i think.

Yeah, but I had to return it as it was defective. The seat wasn't level- it slanted to the left. I think that once I put it together, the hardware warped the seat. Initially I exchanged it, but the same thing happened with the replacement. I returned that for a refund, and have been on the hunt for a new chair ever since. I think this one is a winner.

Is that popcorn machine an air-popper, or do you need to use oil?
